Check the time on the water, not the trip length. Reviewers report "6-hour" trips that lasted about 3 hours 40 minutes once pickup and waiting were taken out. Ask how long you are actually at sea before you pay.

Wild dolphins: what to expect

Wild dolphins are sometimes seen offshore on fishing and boat trips from Agadir. Sometimes is the honest word: there is no dedicated, reliable dolphin-watching product here, sightings are never guaranteed, and trips are cut short when the sea is rough. If a seller promises dolphins, treat it as a sales line.

Agadir also has a dolphinarium in Anza, which we do not recommend or sell; our page on Dolphin World Agadir explains why and what the welfare concerns are.

Jet ski

A 30-minute jet ski session with hotel transfers costs €28–57 on GetYourGuide; Headout sells a 1.5-hour outing (transfers included) for €60; a combined boat trip and jet ski package is about €120. See jet ski rides on GetYourGuide.

Avoid the cash sellers who approach you on the beach: unlicensed boat and jet-ski operators are on our Agadir scams list. Insurance, life jackets and a briefing are what you pay a proper operator for.

The sea, the season and seasickness

  • Go in the morning. The sea is usually calmer; afternoon trade winds chop it up.
  • Season: the big Atlantic swells run from about October/November to March. Summer seas are generally smaller, which suits boat trips. Check the waves on Agadir weather today the evening before.
  • Seasickness is the main risk on the 4–5 hour trips. Take tablets before you board, eat a light breakfast, stay outside and watch the horizon.
  • Cold water: about 17 °C in winter and 20 °C in late summer. The swim stop is bracing.
  • Sunset: around 17:15 in early December and 19:45 in late June, if you are looking at an evening cruise.

Tips

  • Bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, a hat, a windproof layer and cash for drinks or a tip for the crew.
  • Departures are from the marina and the fishing port next to it, at the north end of the main beach.
  • Fish lunch on land instead? The grill stalls at the fishing port serve platters at about 50–120 MAD per person; agree the price per kilo and the total before they cook. Details on fair prices in Agadir.
  • With children: start with the 1-hour cruise. More ideas in Agadir with kids.
  • Cruise passengers: the marina is 2–3 km from where ships dock; see the Agadir cruise port guide.

Agadir boat trips: frequently asked questions

How much is a boat trip in Agadir?

A 1-hour coastal cruise with pickup is €15 on GetYourGuide. A 4–5 hour fishing trip with swimming and a fish barbecue lunch is €32–37 there (list price €47–57), €60–70 on Headout and from €38–40 on local sites. A private boat for 1 hour costs €137–189 for a group of up to 8–11 people.

Where do Agadir boat trips leave from?

From Agadir Marina, at the north end of the beach, and the fishing port right next to it. Most platform trips include pickup from your hotel.

Will I see dolphins on a boat trip from Agadir?

Possibly, but never guaranteed. Wild dolphins are sometimes seen offshore on fishing and boat trips. There is no dedicated, reliable dolphin-watching trip from Agadir, so be wary of anyone who promises a sighting.

What is the best time for a boat trip?

The morning. The sea is usually calmer before the afternoon trade winds pick up. In rough seas, trips are shortened or cancelled.

How much is a jet ski in Agadir?

30 minutes with hotel transfers costs €28–57 on GetYourGuide; Headout sells a 1.5-hour outing including transfers for €60; a boat trip plus jet ski package is about €120. Avoid unlicensed sellers on the beach.

Can I swim on the boat trip?

Most fishing trips include a swim stop. Bring swimwear and a towel, and expect cold water: the sea off Agadir is about 17–20 °C, even in summer.

Is a boat trip OK if I get seasick?

The Atlantic swell is real. Take seasickness tablets beforehand, choose a morning trip, stay on deck and look at the horizon. The 1-hour bay cruise is the safest test.

Is the boat trip good for children?

The 1-hour cruise is. The 4–5 hour fishing trip is long for small children, especially with swell. Life jackets should be on board; ask.
