The rule for a good week: never two long excursions in a row, and a beach day after every 07:30 pickup. Keep the city day off Monday (Souk El Had is closed), and check the weather and sea today before you book each trip.
The 7-day plan
- Day 1 – Arrive, beach, sunset. From Al Massira airport (25 km), the Alsa airport bus costs 50 MAD (80 return) to the centre in about 50 minutes; taxis follow the fixed-fare board, about 200–300 MAD by day. Afternoon on the beach, then the corniche at sunset. Airport to the city.
- Day 2 – The city. Souk El Had in the morning, a museum, grilled fish at the port, then the cable car (130 MAD) and kasbah (90 MAD) two hours before sunset. Exact order and times: Agadir in 1 day.
- Day 3 – Beach day and a hammam. Sunbed (30–100 MAD) or your hotel pool. In the evening, a hammam: 15–20 MAD in a neighbourhood one, 250–450 MAD with massage in a spa.
- Day 4 – Excursion 1: Paradise Valley (half day). Pickup around breakfast, pools before the crowds, back for a late lunch and an afternoon by the pool. Free entry; tours €12–19. Paradise Valley guide.
- Day 5 – Activity day. A surf lesson in Taghazout (250–450 MAD), a quad trip (€13–28), a camel ride at sunset (€35–51 with dinner) or a fishing boat trip with barbecue lunch (€32–37).
- Day 6 – Excursion 2: a full day out. Taroudant (from €30), Essaouira (€36–43), Legzira and Tiznit (~€70) or Marrakech (€35–45, 12–14 hours). Back in the evening, tired: dinner near the hotel.
- Day 7 – Slow last day. Beach in the morning, last shopping in the souk (argan oil, amlou, spices; not on Monday), one more sunset. If you fly out today, keep it to the beach and the Marina.
Arriving or leaving midweek? Slide the days, but keep the city day off Monday and the long trip away from your travel days. The trip planner does this for your dates.
Picking your 2–3 excursions
| If you like… | Excursion | Length | Price | Best months |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Swimming and nature | Paradise Valley | Half day | €12–19 tour | Mar–May, Sep–Nov |
| Old towns and souks | Taroudant + Tiout | 8–9 h | from €30 · CTM 65 MAD | All year; hot in summer |
| A medina by the sea | Essaouira | 10–11 h | €36–43 | All year |
| The big city, once | Marrakech | 12–14 h | €35–45 · CTM 135 MAD | Avoid July–August |
| Coastal scenery | Legzira + Tiznit | 10–12 h | ~€70 | On a low-tide day |
| Birds and empty beaches | Souss-Massa | Half–full day | 350–500 MAD | Mar–May, Sep–Nov; flamingos Oct–Mar |
| Children | Crocoparc | Half day | 100 MAD · shuttle pkg 250 | Summer for feeding shows |
| Children in summer | Danialand water park | Day | 190–250 MAD | April–August |
| Surfing | Imsouane | Full day | Taxi 400–600 MAD return from Taghazout | Oct–Apr |
A classic combination: Paradise Valley + Taroudant + one activity. Families: Crocoparc + Paradise Valley + camel ride (see Agadir with kids). Surfers: a lesson package in Taghazout plus Imsouane. Skip Dolphin World unless you have read why. Everything else is on things to do in Agadir.
What to book ahead, and what not
- Before you fly: a transfer if you land late at night; a surf camp or lesson package for October to March, when camps fill early.
- A day or two ahead: day trips, quad and buggy tours, sunset camel rides (they sell out in high season), boat trips. Check the forecast first: boat trips are cut short in rough seas, and Paradise Valley is unsafe after heavy rain.
- By phone: the Crocoparc shuttle (09:30 and 14:45 from Uniprix on certain days).
- Never in advance: the cable car (130 MAD at the station, about €23 online), the kasbah, museums, the souk, public hammams.
- Ignore: excursion touts and "free gift" sellers on the promenade, and unlicensed jet-ski sellers on the beach. More in Agadir scams.
Why the rest days matter
Full-day trips leave around breakfast and return in the evening after 5–7 hours on the road; Marrakech is 12–14 hours door to door. The sun is strong all year and the Atlantic is tiring to swim in. Put a beach or pool day after each long trip, keep afternoons free on activity days, and do the inland trips (Taroudant, Paradise Valley) in the cooler months. Tuesday to Thursday are quieter at Paradise Valley and in the souk; Sunday is the busiest day for both.
The sea is the main risk in Agadir. More than 70 drowning incidents were recorded in April–May 2025 alone, before lifeguards start in mid-June. Swim between the flags, never at night, and never on a black flag.

One week in Agadir: frequently asked questions
Is a week in Agadir too long?
Not for a beach holiday, which is what Agadir does best. The city sights take one day; the rest of the week is the beach, one or two activities and two or three excursions. If you want a city break with palaces and medinas, a week is too long: read Agadir or Marrakech?
How many excursions should I do in a week?
Two or three. One half day (Paradise Valley), one full day (Taroudant, Essaouira, Legzira or Marrakech) and optionally one activity day (quad, surf, boat). More than three and the week becomes a series of 07:30 pickups; leave a rest day after every long trip.
What should I book before I travel?
Only your airport transfer if you land late, and a surf camp if you go between October and March. Book day trips, quad and sunset camel rides a day or two ahead once you are there and know the forecast. The cable car, kasbah, Crocoparc and museums are pay at the gate. Arrival options: airport to the city.
How much does a week in Agadir cost?
Excluding the hotel, about 1,960–4,735 MAD (€180–430) per person: city entries, three excursions or activities, a hammam, taxis, sunbeds and meals in local and mid-range restaurants. All-inclusive guests spend much less on food. The breakdown is below.
When is the best week to go to Agadir?
For beach weather with less heat, late September to early November (highs around 26 °C, sea about 20 °C) and April–May. Winter weeks are popular with sun-seekers: highs around 21–22 °C, sea 16.5–18 °C, short days (sunset around 17:15 in December). Month by month: best time to visit Agadir.
Is the sea warm enough to swim in Agadir?
It is refreshing all year: 16.5 °C in February to 20.5 °C in September. Lifeguards are on duty from about mid-June to mid-September, 08:00–20:00. Swim only between the flags; rip currents cause drownings every year, including before the season. See Agadir beaches and is Agadir safe?
