Ask what "1 hour" means. The most common complaint about quad trips in Agadir is an advertised hour that turns out to be 30 minutes of riding, plus extra fees for the helmet, insurance or photos. Get riding time and inclusions in writing before you pay.
What a typical trip includes
People search for "quad Agadir" and get dozens of near-identical offers. Nearly all of them follow the same pattern:
- Hotel pickup by minibus from Agadir, Taghazout or Tamraght. Allow about 45 minutes each way if the trip goes to the Timlaline dunes.
- Briefing and kit. Helmet and goggles; a short lesson on the throttle and brakes. A good operator also does a practice loop before heading out.
- About 1.5–2 hours of riding in a guided line: tracks, hills, then dunes or the beach.
- Tea stop, often in a village or a camp, sometimes with a camel ride or a go at sandboarding.
- Return to the hotel. Whole outing: 3–5 hours.

Checked October 2026. The platform "from" prices are for shared groups; private trips cost more. Compare with every other activity on the Agadir price list.
Why the platform trip is often cheaper than the operator's own price: the €13–28 trips are usually large shared groups on a fixed route, while operator prices are for smaller groups or private rides. Neither is a scam; you are buying a different product. If the quad is the main event of your holiday, pay more for a smaller group and more riding time.
Where they ride
- Timlaline (Timlalin) dunes near Tamri, about 50–55 km north of Agadir: real sand dunes running down to the sea. The best scenery, and the longest transfer.
- Hills and villages behind Tamraght and Aourir, close to Taghazout. Rocky tracks and argan country.
- Takate and Sine canyon, sold as the "Agadir desert". It is not the Sahara; it is dry, open country inland.
- Beaches and dunes south of Agadir, around the Oued Souss. Which operators use which stretch varies, so ask.
Age and licence rules
- Licence: not normally required.
- Driving your own quad: from 16 at most operators.
- Passengers: children from about 6 ride behind an adult. With younger children, ask the operator first. More ideas in Agadir with kids.
- Insurance and pickup are not always included. Ask.
How to pick an operator
- Read the recent reviews for the words "briefing", "group size" and "speed". Groups that race flat-out with beginners at the back exist; you want small groups and a guide at each end of the line.
- Get the riding time in writing. Not the total trip time.
- Check the extras: helmet, insurance, photos, camel, sandboarding. A low price followed by add-on fees at the camp is a classic, covered on our Agadir scams page.
- Expect a shop stop on some trips (argan products). You do not have to buy anything; see the fair prices for argan oil first.
- Ignore beach and promenade touts selling quad trips for cash. Book through your hotel, a platform with reviews, or an operator with a real address.
Safety and what to wear
- Closed shoes and long trousers. Operators refuse sandals.
- A bandana or scarf for the dust, plus sunglasses under the goggles.
- Ride at your speed. Tell the guide if the pace is too fast; that is what they are there for.
- Leave valuables at the hotel. Phones fall out of pockets on dunes.
- Morning or sunset. Avoid midday from June to August. Check the heat on the Agadir weather today page.
If the quad sounds like too much, a camel ride along the flamingo river is the slow, gentle alternative. Fitting it into a longer stay? Do the quad in the morning and keep the afternoon for the beach; the one week in Agadir itinerary shows how it fits around everything else.
Quad biking in Agadir: frequently asked questions
How much is quad biking in Agadir?
Shared half-day trips with hotel pickup start at €13–28 per person on GetYourGuide (discounted from €19–28). Headout sells a 2-hour trip at €45, local guide sites €40–60. Booking an operator directly, expect about €19 per person for 1 hour of riding, or 450 MAD per person for 2 hours with a camel ride and sandboarding.
Do I need a driving licence for a quad in Agadir?
Normally no. Operators let riders aged 16 and over drive their own quad without a licence. Helmets and goggles are supplied.
Can children go quad biking?
Children from about 6 can ride as passengers with an adult; driving their own quad starts at 16. With younger children, ask the operator before booking.
How long is a quad trip?
Plan a half day: 3–5 hours including transfers, of which roughly 1.5–2 hours is riding. The Timlaline dunes are about 45 minutes' drive each way. Always ask whether "1 hour" means time on the quad or the whole outing.
Where do quad tours in Agadir go?
The best-known area is the Timlaline (Timlalin) dunes near Tamri, about 50–55 km north, where the sand meets the sea. Other routes go into the hills and villages behind Tamraght and Aourir, to Takate and Sine canyon (sold as the "Agadir desert"), and along beaches and dunes south of Agadir.
Quad or buggy?
A buggy has seats, belts and a roll cage, and two people sit side by side; it costs more, about €70 per buggy for 1 hour with an operator, or €51–57 per person for a 4–5 hour trip. A quad is cheaper and more physical. With a small child or a nervous passenger, take the buggy.
What should I wear for quad biking?
Closed shoes and long trousers (sandals get refused), a bandana or scarf for the dust, sunglasses, and clothes you do not mind getting sandy. Leave valuables at the hotel.
What is the best time of day for a quad tour?
Morning or the sunset slot. Avoid midday from June to August, when the dunes are hot and shadeless. A sunset add-on costs about €10 with operators that sell it separately.
