Buy at the station, not online. The operator has no web shop. The lower station sells a return for 130 MAD; online resellers sell the same ride for about €23 (~250 MAD). Queues are usually short, so "skip the line" saves you little.

Prices from the station board (July 2025), confirmed by 2026 guides. Checked October 2026. Prices have risen since the opening in 2022, when a return was 80 MAD, so expect the board to change again. The full list of gate prices in town is on our Agadir attraction prices page.
Gate price vs online tickets
The cable car is run by the Danialand group (the same company behind the Danialand water park) and it sells only at the station. Every online ticket is a resale with a mark-up:
| Where you buy | Return ride | What you get on top |
|---|---|---|
| Lower station ticket office | 130 MAD (~€12) | Nothing, and you need nothing else |
| GetYourGuide day or night ticket | €22–27 | A voucher; some include pickup |
| Headout night round trip | €25 | A voucher |
| Viator | ~$28 | Shuttle included |
| Cable car + city tour or kasbah | €26–40 (GYG) | Guide, transport, sometimes other stops |
For two adults that is 260 MAD (~€24) at the station against about €46 for two €23 night tickets. The online version is worth it only if you want a hotel pickup, a guide who explains the 1960 earthquake site at the top, or a package that also covers the Souk El Had and the Marina. If you are planning the whole stay, our Agadir in 1 day itinerary puts the cable car first.
Opening hours
- Every day from 10:00 until late evening, later in summer. A September 2026 guide gives 10:00–22:00; other listings say midnight or 01:00 in summer, and old ones 17:00–18:00. Trust the board at the station on the day.
- Wind: the line stops temporarily in strong wind. Check the wind on our Agadir weather today page before you go up.
- The kasbah closes earlier: about 19:00, 20:00 in summer, last entry 30 minutes before. A visitor in September 2026 was turned away after 20:00.
Night rides: what you get and what you don't
Night tickets are popular because the city lights and the lit-up "God, Country, King" inscription on the hillside look spectacular. But after closing time the kasbah enclosure is shut, so a night ride gives you the ride, the free esplanade and the views, nothing more.
- Go up about an hour before sunset. Sunset is around 17:15 in early December and 19:45 in late June, so you still have time to visit the kasbah while it is open.
- Watch the sunset from the ramparts or the esplanade. Bring a windbreaker: the hill is always windy.
- Ride down after dark. You get the night view of the bay on the way down with the same 130 MAD ticket.
Private and VIP cabins
The line has 30 cabins, 4 of them VIP. A private cabin for up to 7 people costs 900 MAD; a VIP cabin for 4 costs 800 MAD (2025 prices). Do the maths: a private cabin full of 7 works out at about 129 MAD each, the same as a normal ticket, so it is a good deal for a family or a group. The VIP cabin for 4 costs 200 MAD each for a slightly nicer cabin; reviewers say it is not worth it, and normal cabins are rarely crowded.
Getting to the lower station
The lower station is next to Pont Tildi (the bridge over the Oued Tildi) on Rue Echouhada, south of the port near the Wilaya. Do not look for it in Founty: that is the hotel zone south of the centre.
- On foot from the Marina: about 15 minutes.
- Petit taxi from the beach or Founty: expect roughly 15–30 MAD by day. Ask for the meter, as explained in our Agadir scams guide.
- By car: the station has a car park.
- From the airport: Al Massira is about 25 km away; see Agadir airport to the city for the bus, taxi and Uber options.
- From a cruise ship: cable car + kasbah takes 2–3 hours and fits easily in a port day. Our Agadir cruise port guide covers the taxi from the port gate.
Skipping the cable car entirely? Alsa city bus L24 "Pied Oufella – Kasbah Oufella" runs up the hill, and there is a marked 2.8 km walking trail (30–45 minutes up).
The ride and what is at the top
The cable car opened on 15 July 2022, billed as Morocco's first, built by Garaventa/Doppelmayr for about 140 million MAD. Cabins leave continuously (capacity about 1,000 people an hour) and the 1.7 km ride takes about six minutes, climbing over the Tildi valley with the port, the Marina and the 6 km beach opening up behind you.
At the top station you walk out onto the Oufella hill. The esplanade and the viewpoints outside the walls are free. Inside the walls is the restored Agadir Oufella Kasbah (90 MAD), with wooden walkways over the ruins of the town destroyed by the 1960 earthquake, the Saadian gate and the ramparts. The audio guide (30 MAD, in English) is worth it because the signs say little.
Things nobody tells you
- Best times: late morning, when the air is clearer and it is quieter, or about an hour before sunset. Avoid 13:00–15:00 in summer: there is no shade on top.
- Two tickets, two counters. The cable car ticket does not get you into the kasbah. Keep 90 MAD per adult for the kasbah gate.
- Photo camels at the top charge after the photo. Agree the price first or say no; our fair prices list tells you what is reasonable.
- With children the ride is a hit, but the kasbah is rocky and unsuited to strollers. More ideas in Agadir with kids.
- Combine with the Souk El Had (closed Mondays) or the Medina Polizzi for a full day. The complete list is in things to do in Agadir.
Agadir cable car: frequently asked questions
How much is the Agadir cable car?
130 MAD (~€12) return for a non-resident adult taller than 1.40 m, 100 MAD for a child under 1.40 m, and free under 0.80 m (July 2025 board, still current in 2026 guides). Moroccans and residents pay less; the resident price is on the board at the ticket office. A private cabin for up to 7 people is 900 MAD and a VIP cabin for 4 is 800 MAD.
Can I buy Agadir cable car tickets online?
Not from the operator: there is no official web shop. The tickets you see on GetYourGuide, Viator or Headout are resold at about €22–27 for a return, roughly double the 130 MAD gate price. Buy online only if you want hotel pickup or a guide for the kasbah; otherwise pay at the lower station.
What are the Agadir cable car opening hours?
Daily from 10:00 until late evening, later in summer. Published closing times disagree (22:00, midnight or even 01:00 in summer; older listings say 17:00–18:00), so check the board at the station. The line stops temporarily in strong wind.
Is the kasbah included in the cable car ticket?
No. The Agadir Oufella Kasbah enclosure is a separate ticket: 90 MAD for foreign adults, 20 MAD for Moroccans and residents, paid at the kasbah gate. The esplanade and viewpoints outside the walls are free. The enclosure closes around 19:00 (20:00 in summer), so night riders only get the views.
Where is the Agadir cable car lower station?
Next to Pont Tildi (the Oued Tildi bridge) on Rue Echouhada, just south of the port near the Wilaya and the administrative quarter. It is not in Founty. It is about 15 minutes on foot from the Marina and has a car park.
How long is the ride and how long should I plan?
The line is about 1.7 km and the ride takes about 6 minutes each way. Plan 1.5–2 hours in total: the two rides, the kasbah (about 50 minutes on the walkways) and time on the viewpoints.
Is the Agadir cable car good for kids?
Yes. Children under 1.40 m pay 100 MAD and under 0.80 m ride free, the cabins are closed and the ride is short. At the top the kasbah walkways are fine for walking children but the rocky sections are not stroller-friendly, and there is little shade.
Is the VIP cabin worth it?
For most people, no: reviewers say the queues are short or non-existent and the view is the same. The private cabin makes sense for a group: 900 MAD for up to 7 people is about 129 MAD each, the same as a normal ticket, and you ride alone.
